2 MORE Tips For Expert Email Marketing

It’s no secret how much we love email marketing here at Lurn. We’ve been doing it for decades, and it’s still one of our favorite ways of interacting with our audiences.

Yesterday, we shared 3 awesome tips for segmenting email lists that more people don’t realize. If you missed it, you can read it here.

Well today, we’re back with 2 more killer tips you can use ASAP to get more out of your email list.

Let’s jump right in!

#1 - Don’t Be Afraid to Double Mail

One of the most common mistakes new email marketers make is that they’re usually afraid of mailing their list too often. They think they’re bothering their list.

They forget that people signed up to their list because they WANTED to hear from them!

Emailing your lists multiple times a week actually improves your metrics because they get used to seeing emails from you.

That’s why they signed up to be on your list in the first place.

Just make sure you are always providing VALUE to your subscribers!

#2 - Test “Blind” Subject Lines (Sparingly)

Let’s say you sent an email with the subject line “7 Tips To Rank Higher On YouTube.”

After sending it out, give it some time, check how many opens and clicks you got, then follow these steps…

1. Segment your list to target the group who didn’t open the email at all to see if you can fix the problem.

2. Now you can test a blind subject line.

  • Some examples include, “Hey, Brian. Do You Have a Minute?” or, “Hey, Brian. [Your Name] Here…” You don’t mention ‘YouTube’ here because you want them to click into the email to see what you’re messaging them about.

If you get them to click into the email, use the copy to get them interested in the content.

While certainly effective, only do this about once a month when you have a key promotion and really want to get the word out. Doing this too much can annoy some users.

Start using these two tips and let us know if you see an increase in your performance!

Meta Rolls Out New Ad Targeting and Insights Features

Recently, Meta execs announced they're rolling out new ad targeting and insights features designed to give marketers even more control and precision over their campaigns.

The new features include "Insights Panels," which provide in-depth information about the people who are engaging with your ads.

This includes demographic data, device usage, and even a breakdown of how people are interacting with your content.

This can be incredibly helpful in fine-tuning your targeting and messaging to ensure that you're reaching the right people with the right message.

Meta is also expanding its ad targeting options to include new interest categories, like "outdoor enthusiasts" and "collectors." This means that you can get even more granular in your targeting and reach people who are most likely to be interested in what you're offering.

We’re still parsing through all of the details ourselves, but you can check out everything they’ve announced, right here!
