Landing Pages - 3 Ways To Boost Conversion

The beauty of the opt-in page is that once people sign up, they can be marketed to for as long as they stay subscribed to the list.

But far too many opt-in pages are not optimized to maximize conversions. We see this all the time!

People are always rushing to put together an opt-in page without too much thought - and then they complain when it doesn’t convert well!

So today, we’re focusing on the 3 MOST IMPORTANT areas to focus on to maximize your opt-in page’s performance…

 #1 - The Headline

This sounds obvious, but so many marketers are lazy when it comes to their headlines. You need to focus on this line more than anything else!

Make sure you grab the audience’s attention as soon as they land on your page.

If the user doesn’t know what your page is all about right away, they’ll probably click off. People’s time is valuable.

The headline should clearly state what the audience will receive in exchange for their email address. Be totally transparent with them right up front. They will appreciate that transparency.

And be specific! Show the audience what value you’ll provide them directly in the headline.

Here’s an example:

“FREE Report: Steal My Secrets To Gain 11 LBS of Pure Muscle WITHOUT Lifting Weights”

When someone reads that headline, they know EXACTLY what they’ll get.

They’ll learn how to gain a specific amount of muscle, and they know they won’t have to spend hours in the gym every day.

#2 - Use Multiple STRONG Subheads

The job of the first subhead is to support and clarify the headline. Those two pieces (the headline and subhead) should work together.

Think of it as an opportunity to boost the message the headline delivers. It makes it possible to add more detail, to help create anticipation and desire.

An example of a subhead to go with the good headline above is:

“And Enjoy Looking In The Mirror So Much It’ll Be Tough To Walk Away”

But don’t just stop there. If you have long blocks of copy, make sure to break them up with multiple subheads that ALL focus on key benefits. A lot of people just skim pages - the subheads should catch their attention.

#3 - Use More Bullet Points

This is where you build value.

In the bullet points you’ll want to provide additional information in a visually appealing way. Instead of a long-block of text, break up all the additional information into bullets.

This format is perfect for people who are scanning your page.

You can go into further detail about what you’ll be giving people who opt in, and why they should be interested in you. This is also a great place to build your track record.

Putting in this extra bit of effort can help better optimize your opt-in page.

Now focus on those 3 key elements of an opt-in page, and let us know if your conversions improve!
