What Should Digital Marketers Know About Threads?
The world of social media is changing rapidly, and the latest twist comes from Meta, who launched the Threads app 2 weeks ago, aiming to provide a new way for users, brands, and creators to engage with short text posts.
But amidst the chaos and the thrill of novelty, one question looms large - will Threads outdo Twitter⌠I mean X?
This article brings together insights from experts across the media and tech industries as they explore the potential of Threads.
Unlike other âTwitter Killers,â thereâs a real possibility that Threads will take significant market share from Twitter. Despite rumors of its early shortcomings, Threads may prove to be a game-changer in the social media landscape.
With Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Whatsapp, Meta offers brands and creators a âone-stop shop,â thanks to the massive userbase and extensive data that can be used for ad targeting.
If you're a brand, creator, or social media enthusiast, this article sheds light on why the launch of Threads might just be a turning point for digital marketers. As they say, timing is everything, and perhaps, the time is ripe for Meta to step in.
At the same time, the future of Threads is uncertain. X already has a massive user base and is a well developed platform. Threads still has a lot of features to build up, and thereâs already evidence that itâs struggling to keep users engaged.

5 Step Copywriting Formula For Long-Form Copy
Afraid of writing long-form copy? Donât be.
Whether youâre creating a written sales letter (WSL), video sales letters (VSL) or a webinar, youâll go through the same five simple steps that youâll go through in your copy every time you sit down to write.
Those five steps are...
Introduction
Story
Content
Transition
Pitch
Weâll go over each step and how to use them in your copy.
Step #1: Introduction
The introduction is a really important step in this process because if you donât grab their attention, then the rest of your copy wonât make any impact.
The introduction looks different based on the format youâre usingâŚ
WSL: The headline
VSL: The first 10 seconds
Webinar: The first five minutes
The #1 question you need to answer is âwhatâs in it for me?â If you give the prospect a reason to stay, then you have an opportunity to influence them.
Step #2: Story
Story is where you start connecting with your audience. You want to use the story to speak to their problem and show how they can overcome it (with a solution that youâre going to teach them!).
The key mistake people make in this step is they make themselves the hero of their story rather than their solution.
In the story stage, youâre the sidekick and your product is the hero (your product is Batman and youâre Robin).
A framework that works in this step is to:
Speak to your audienceâs pain and frustration
Talk about how you discovered the solution
Discuss what the solution has done for you (or a relatable case study)
Tease that youâre going to reveal this solution to them
By the end of this step, they should be eager to hear about the solution you discovered.
Step #3: Content
Now youâre going to break down the solution you discovered. Youâre going to teach them WHAT they need to do (not the how!).
You should lay it out in a linear fashion. For example, 5 steps, 7 secrets, 3 keys, etc. Laying your content out this way gives your audience a roadmap they can follow.
Master copywriters are able to make each step an âaha momentâ which reveals a surprising thing they need to do. You donât want to just give them boring, generic advice that they already know!
If you do this right, then youâll actually make the sale during this step.
As you wrap up your content, youâll begin your transition.
Step #4: Transition
Now that they are intrigued by your solution and know what they need to do, thereâs one goal in the transition step: get permission to sell your product.
Everyone knows thereâs a pitch coming at the end of your WSL, VSL, or webinar, so the idea here is to be transparent that a pitch is coming to address the elephant in the room. It can be as simple as, âYou could go out and do this on your own, but Iâve put together a program thatâll help to implement this with less effort and less time.â
A mistake people often make in this step is they drop their energy levels because theyâre embarrassed to be selling something. Their excitement drops from the level it was at in the content page, which makes people suspicious.
Why would anyone want to buy your product if youâre embarrassed to be selling it?
So, in your transition, your energy level needs to stay at least the same as it was, but you can ramp up your energy even further if you want people to see youâre confident in your offer.
Step #5: Pitch
Now itâs time to present the offer and encourage them to buy it now. Your pitch follows a very specific model.
The first thing you need to do is break down how your program will help them implement the solution to their problems QUICKLY and WITH LESS EFFORT.
You need to get away from talking about features like, âYouâll get 32 modules of videos.â Instead, focus on benefits like getting the right information at the right time, a community for support and tools that let you avoid difficulties.
Think through the objections your prospects might have and address those with BONUSES.
The most successful pitches often spend the least amount of time talking about the product itself. Instead, they focus on the benefits and bonuses. However, be careful about over-explaining in this section because you might oversell someone and have them leave because you spent too much time talking.
You can give people the chance to buy after this, but know that many people wonât. You then say, âBut wait, thereâs more!â
Thatâs where you drop one extra, killer bonus⌠what we call the âgolden goose bonus.â This is that extra guarantee, that extra tool or that extra support thatâll get the fence sitters to buy.
Once youâve gone through all of this, you can give your closing pitch, including some scarcity to give people a reason to buy now.
If you can do all of these things, youâll have people that WANT to buy from rather than it feeling like pulling teeth.
One final note: make sure that your entire sales process is COMPLIANT. Please be smart and get professional legal advice.
