YouTube - New Ways To Get Engagement!

Google just made a HUGE announcement.

They’re going to make it easier for marketers to get their content to appear alongside trending YouTube Shorts.

And they’re doing it a few different ways…

#1 - They’re adding YouTube Shorts in “Video Reach” campaigns. This will use AI to more accurately place your ads along videos that are trending and going viral. It should make a big impact on ad engagement.

#2 - Ads will now be prioritized during user scrolling. When opening up Shorts, users will now be seeing an ad FIRST, before they get to the trending content.

It’ll take some time to start seeing the difference in data points thanks to these new features, so we’ll keep you posted.

Our Take: Short-form video is absolutely the #1 way to reach your audience in 2023. Whether you’re using paid ads or FREE traffic, TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts, and Meta Reels are all doing insane engagement numbers.

And it’s clear the platforms are emphasizing these short videos too. If you haven’t started yet, don’t waste another second.

UGC - Your Content Creation “Cheat Code”

One of the biggest challenges of a marketer is the sheer AMOUNT of content we need to create.

It can seem overwhelming. Between your…

  • Sales pages

  • Ads

  • Social content

  • Landing pages

  • Blog content

  • And on, and on, and on…

Coming up with brand new ideas for every single piece of content is exhausting.

That’s where User Generated Content (UGC) comes into play…

When you use UGC, you’re basically having your customers or audience create the content for you.

Here’s an example…

Recently we hosted a mastermind event at our offices. After the event, we interviewed some of our customers about their experience. It didn't take much effort from them, but it ended up creating some fantastic content for us.

All we did was…

  1. Take the video footage & extracted the audio

  2. Uploaded the audio to Temi, an inexpensive transcription service

  3. Used ChatGPT to transform the transcript into polished written testimonials

How cool is that?

Now, you don’t need to do this in person. You can reach out to satisfied customers and ask them if you can share their reviews or emails. You can also ask them to record short video testimonials too!

We now use these testimonials in our content posts, sales pages, and even our ads. Yes, they make amazing ads!

Try to find creative ways to get your customers to help you create content. If you do, you’ll ease the content creation burden and add some authenticity to your brand.
