The True Value Of Remote Work 🏠
New Research On Remote Work. Plus X Prepares Premium Tiers And How To Get More From Your Email List

How much do people value remote work? Apparently quite a bit.
According to new research, prospective employees will give up 8% in annual pay for a job that’s at least partially remote.
Given the median salary in the United States is $57,200, that’s about $4,600 a year!
That makes sense since according to a 2022 survey by FlexJobs, remote workers reported saving an average of $5,000 per year from reduced gas, car repairs, and food expenses.
Here’s the rundown for today…

5 Strategies To Build An Audience From Scratch
One of the most powerful ASSETS your business can have is an audience that trusts and respects you. That makes it MUCH easier to generate revenue for your business.
In 2023 there are more ways to build an audience than ever. There are old-school methods like email, cutting-edge ones like TikTok, and plenty of others in between.
There’s a lot of content out there today. If you want to build an audience from scratch, then you need to take a strategic approach.
Here's a breakdown of the strategies mentioned in the article…
1. Select a Topic, Medium, and Angle
Choose a consistent topic that interests you and that you have knowledge about that can help people get results. Ideally pick something where you can offer a unique angle, whether it’s experience, system or style.
Next, decide how you want to deliver your content. Most platforms are moving towards VIDEO.
2. Create Content and Publish Regularly
Commit to creating and publishing content regularly for consistent growth. Set a realistic schedule for content publishing based on your capacity.
Consider batching content creation for efficiency and to ensure timely publishing.
Automate or delegate tasks that are not core to content creation to prevent burnout.
The quality of your content is what matters most in the long term, so analyze competitors and seek feedback to continuously improve your content quality.
3. Partner with Existing Creators
Algorithms favor content that gains early traction, making it challenging for NEW creators.
You can get around this by collaborating with influencers to boost the visibility and reach of your content. Influencers launching products, like books, are more likely to collaborate.
If collaborations aren’t possible, consider directly paying for promotions or interviews.
4. Adopt an Omni Channel Approach
After establishing your main content channel, repurpose that content across various platforms.
For example, break down long-form content into smaller pieces suitable for different platforms using tools or services like Repurpose.io or Shortzy to help.
Optimize each content piece for the platform it's being published on.
Start with one additional platform and expand as you get comfortable.
5. Double Down On What’s Working
Regularly analyze your growth metrics and focus on strategies that yield results. Avoid being distracted by every new marketing trend and stick to what works for you.
Experiment occasionally, but prioritize proven strategies. For instance, if email campaigns are effective for you, then focus on sending more of them.
Consistently seek feedback and adapt based on audience preferences.
Building and maintaining an audience requires dedication, adaptability, and a well-thought-out strategy. With these steps, creators can navigate the evolving content landscape and build a loyal following.

Daily Hack - The Power Of Daily Emails
So many information business owners understand how powerful email marketing is… but then they don’t email their list every day!
So many people are afraid of emailing their lists, and “annoying” their leads. So they hardly ever send emails, and when they do, they get lousy engagement rates. So then they email even less.
At Lurn, we send our subscribers DAILY emails. These have generated more sales than anything else for our business.
There are a lot of brands competing for our attention. Our subscribers forget we exist when they don’t hear from us.
Look at your own inbox. Do you remember the people and brands that aren’t regularly emailing you?
Don’t baby your list. Just send them QUALITY emails and follow a couple of very simple rules.
Here are the 3 guidelines we live by…
#1 - Mix up your email STYLE
So why are so many people afraid to email their lists every day? Because they only send ONE style of email. Every email is promotional and is doing a hard sell.
Yes, emailing that to your list every single day WILL burn out the list. That’s why you have to mix up your email style.
We suggest rotating between 4 styles of email…
Story emails - These are CONTENT emails that tell a specific story that’s important to your list. They should learn something and get closer to YOU.
Content emails - Take it a step further and really teach something or share a valuable insight. What you’re reading right now is an example of this.
Promotional emails - Work these in. These bring in the revenue. But you can’t JUST hammer these every single day.
Hybrid emails - Combine either story or content emails with a promotional email and you’re cooking with gas…
When you keep changing the STYLE of email you send and provide VALUE, your list will want to hear from you every day!
#2 - Segment Religiously
If there’s ONE thing you take from this - make it this. Avoid the one-size-fits-all “blast emails” approach. You can do those once in a while, but if you really want to maximize your engagement and avoid burning out your list - start segmenting more.
Here are some of the easiest ways to segment your list…
Those who opened emails in the last 30 days…
Those who opened/clicked a specific campaign’s emails…
7-day clickers…
Subscribers who haven't opened today's email…
Attendees of your latest webinar/event…
Those interested in specific topics…
When we segment our list aggressively, all of the key metrics climb. Opens, clicks, conversions - everything.
When you have a substantial list, segmented sends make each message more relevant, increasing open rates. Plus, this lets you speak directly to each group, using their jargon and creating highly relevant content.
#3 - Clean Your List
And I don’t just mean run your list through a verification or spam trap tool (although you should do that every 6 months or so too).
I’m talking about ONLY sending to people who have opened your emails in the past 120-180 days.
Think about it.
If you haven’t opened an email from a brand in 6 months, what are the odds you’re going to open the next one they send you. 0%.
Stop trying to connect with the people who just aren’t interested in what you have to offer. Don’t take it personally - just move on.
Here’s the other reason to do this…
When you cut bait with those olds leads, you’ll INSTANTLY see your open rates and click through rates climb. That sends excellent messages to all the ESPs (Email Service Providers) that you’re sending valuable emails that people like.
Suddenly, you’ll start inboxing better with new leads and ALL of your metrics will keep climbing. ESPs want to see positive momentum. They reward good open rates with better open rates. Give them what they want!
Letting go is hard. I get it. People hold onto every single email lead for dear life, even when they haven’t opened a single email in YEARS.
Stop doing that.
Focus on a more active segment with your “main blast” emails and all your numbers will improve.
