ChatGPT just became a whole lot more useful to anyone creating AUDIO content.

Users can now VERBALLY interact with ChatGPT, asking it to create content like stories or to answer questions in spoken form.

The voice feature uses a new text-to-speech model that creates human-like voices, developed with the help of professional voice actors, offering five different voice options.

How To Tell A Great Story

One of the most important marketing skills is telling a great story.

Stories are how people connect. They are the most effective way to deliver content and establish the value of an offer you’re promoting.

This article from Seth Godin is a fantastic summary of the most important elements of a good story.

Great stories capture people's imagination because they feel true and authentic.

They make BOLD promises, offering things like fun or safety.

It’s crucial for these stories to be trusted; if people don’t trust the story, they won’t listen.

Subtlety in stories is powerful; letting people draw their own conclusions is often more effective.

First impressions and quick engagements are significant, stories need to grab attention fast.

Great stories are TARGETED; they resonate most when they align with a small audience’s worldview, and then they spread.

Lastly, the best stories don’t teach new things but rather confirm what the audience already believes, making them feel smart and secure.

Those are some of the key points Seth talks about. For more details, check out the full article.

Daily Hack - 3 Steps To Come Up With A Topic For Your Course

Finding a topic for course creation is pretty similar to finding a niche for other business models - where you can fit your product or services most appropriately! Picking up a good niche requires adequate research and planning.

So, here’s what I will talk about - what makes a good niche/topic for creating a course on?

Three factors help you decide on a good niche:

  1. Competition

  2. Audience Size

  3. Return on Investment

Let’s break them down

Competition

Competition is a balance. Too little of it means that the niche probably isn’t profitable, while too much means it’s saturated and hard to make money (especially if you’re not a huge company).

That said, some competition is actually a GOOD sign for niches.

You want to look for a niche with at least some competition. Why? That means it’s PROFITABLE and people are willing to spend money.

With competitive niches, a good approach might be to niche-down and get more specific. This helps you differentiate your brand and avoid the race to the bottom in terms of prices.

For example, internet marketing is a highly competitive niche. But if your niche is based on Copywriting, that will differentiate you from the general internet marketing brands.

Competition is a good sign. And even in competitive niches, you can carve out a nice slice of the pie.

Audience Size

Audience size matters. You need a significant pool of people to offer your course to. There needs to be demand.

Of course, when it comes to researching the audience size for courses, we need to look at the demand for a topic or skill that people seek to acquire in the hope of getting a reliable job, making additional money, or even getting an edge in their lives.

In a nutshell, you want to find a large audience that actively looks for solutions to their problem(s).

So, a course about Java or Python would have a greater audience of learners than a course about the history of coffee-making or a course about different dog breeds and how to care for them.

Return On Investment (ROI)

With courses, it’s important to keep in mind the ROI for your audience.

We are talking here about what your potential course audience would expect out of buying your course. If your audience expects MINIMAL benefits from completing your course, the ROI for the audience is negligible, but if your audience comes to your course with great expectations and hopes to gain a lot, the expectation of ROI is huge.

It’s all about the benefits that people get from taking the course.

You can charge a higher price for such a course where the expectation of ROI is higher. ROI comes in many forms, from money to health to upgrades in relationships and lifestyle.

For example

  • A course on stock trading has the obvious ROI of being able to make a lot of money.

  • A course on dating has the ROI of landing your dream partner.

  • A course on fitness has the ROI of looking great and getting healthier.

When people can see the direct benefits of taking your course, it’s more valuable to them and they’re willing to pay more money.

The other thing to keep in mind is that niches with very high ROI require less of an audience size to be successful.

A lot of investment and wealth-related niches are like this. If you can sell a course for thousands of dollars, you don’t need that many people to buy it to make a significant amount of money.
