And how to improve conversions in 5 minutes…

Welcome back! A bit of lighter news to start the week. Despite being worth over $100 BILLION, Warren Buffett still lives in the same home he bought in 1958 for $31,500.
The reasoning? “I’m happy there. I’d move if I thought I’d be happier someplace else,” Buffett said. It turns out, the home is far from his only money “quirk” - some of these are pretty funny.
There’s a definite lesson there, and we won’t doubt the man. But maybe he could spend more than $20 for a flip phone…

3 Incredibly Simple Copy “Hacks” That Boost Sales
One of the biggest problems we continually see from entrepreneurs and marketers is that they make their copy too COMPLICATED.
They think every piece of copy needs to be overly-informative and groundbreaking.
But the truth is, it’s the SIMPLE copy strategies that work the best.
That’s why we’re sharing 3 incredibly simple strategies you can immediately start using. They’re simple, they’re straightforward, and they work over and over.
Hack #3: Benefits NOT Features
Selling is all about the benefits of a product, not the specific features or details.
If you're focusing too much on describing the product’s features, you're going to bore your audience to death. Talking about the technical aspects of your product or offer just won’t work.
The audience wants to know what's in it for them. What will this product do FOR THEM.
They don’t care that your mattress is 76 inches by 80 inches. They care that they’ll finally wake up rested and without screaming back pain.
Focus on what problems you can solve for them.
Get to the root of why this person is reading you in the first place. Remember people buy based on emotions.
Hack #2: Use Open Loops
When you use an “open loop” you greatly increase the chances your audience reads through the entire copy. The last thing you want is for them to tune out or click away.
Think of open loops as teasers or cliffhangers.
With an open loop you grab attention and create mystery so that the reader wants to continue on to get closure. Think of the end of any television episode that makes you immediately want to keep watching.
That’s an open loop!
They’re perfect when trying to get people to click to the next page, or finish a long piece of content.
Hack #1: Never Forget the Visual Flow
“Visual flow” is one of the most important pieces of your copy.
There’s a simple, but harsh truth to copywriting…
It does not matter how good your copy is. Absolutely no one will read it if it looks terrible. Think of a giant text wall. How appealing is it to read?
Create a beautiful visual flow that makes your writing easy to read. You can accomplish this by writing sentences of varying lengths.
Bold some words. Italicize others. Put [brackets] around some.
Just make sure you keep switching up the format to keep people reading!

ICYMI: Write Your Book & Change Your Life!
We shared a stat last week that totally blew our minds.
81% of people want to write a book. Only 1% of people actually do it!
That’s why Anik brought Doug Crowe onto this week’s podcast episode. He helps people from all walks of life publish their own books - even if they don’t consider themselves “writers.”
By the end of this episode, you’ll know whether you SHOULD write a book or not.
And if you decide the answer is “yes,” you’ll know EXACTLY how to get started.
