Rumors about Apple developing its own search engine have been floating around for a long time, but now there’s A LOT of smoke.

A group in Apple has been working on developing a next-generation search engine for Apple’s apps codenamed “Pegasus.”

Apparently, MICROSOFT of all companies has approached Apple to team up in this effort.

The goal, of course, is to make more money. Right now Apple drives its users to use Google search, but if it had its own in-house search engine, then it could generate A LOT more revenue for the company.

Here’s the rundown for today

Daily Hack - What Makes A Great Lead Magnet?

All great lead magnets have some common elements that make them great. I already hinted at some. An effective lead magnet provides value, builds trust and naturally leads people deeper into your funnel. But there are a few more too

A great lead magnet is unique.

If your lead magnet even seems like it’s something people have seen before, they’re NOT going to take action. This applies to both the landing page for your lead magnet, like an opt-in page, and the lead magnet itself.

If you’re giving away a generic free report, or running a generic-sounding webinar, it’s not going to cut it. People are busy and distracted. They’re not going to give you the time of day if they think your lead magnet has stuff they’ve heard before.

Avoid cliches and aim for specificity

Focus on a specific pain point, or a specific goal that your ideal customer has, and solve it completely. That means you need to be SPECIFIC.

If you’re giving away a free report through an opt-in page, make sure your headline is specific and catches their attention.

On top of that, make sure your free report delivers. It should provide actual value, and give them information they haven’t seen before.

Again, avoid cliches and the same old stuff that people are just going to ignore.

You don’t have to have some new invention to be unique though. You can put a new spin on a familiar topic.

For example, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People aren’t anything new. Those concepts have been around forever, and most people are at least somewhat aware of them.

However, the way Stephen Covey distilled and explained that common knowledge is what makes it UNIQUE and groundbreaking.

If your lead magnet is unique and catches people’s attention, it becomes a literal magnet for your business. That brings us to the next point...

A great lead magnet is a NO-BRAINER to say yes to.

A lead magnet should appeal directly to a BIG PROBLEM or goal that your ideal customer has and solve it completely. When you really nail a good hook for it, it’s an automatic yes for your target audience.

When a prospect sees a great lead magnet, they think, “Wow, I can get this for free!?” And they take immediate action. That’s the kind of reaction you’re aiming for with a lead magnet.

With a lead magnet that’s a no-brainer to say yes to, you streamline the flow of micro-commitments. This way, people move from leads to customers as effectively as possible.

A great lead magnet is a win-win, for both the business and potential customer.

When done right, a lead magnet is a true win-win situation. Your business gets a new lead and your new lead gets something valuable.

If it’s one-sided in any way, it’s probably not a great lead magnet. Something that provides zero value to a potential customer is obviously not a good lead magnet.

On the other hand, something that takes you a year to create, or is expensive for you to deliver, isn’t a good lead magnet either.

Creating a win-win lead magnet comes down to this question: How can I wow my ideal customers while still keeping my business profitable?

A great lead magnet provides instant gratification.

This one is not mandatory, but it helps. If you can deliver value instantly to someone, they’re more likely to keep making micro-commitments.

Momentum is everything in business. If you have someone’s attention, keep it.

The power of instant gratification is why we love free reports and books. People get immediate value from it, and this leads to them engaging more with your business.
