Daily Hack - The Social Media Timeline Of Success
Social media is one of the best ways to build an audience. There's really only one trick to doing it...
Putting in the time.
It doesn’t matter what platform you’re focusing on - Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc - it’s all about putting in the time.
This isn’t easy, because it takes A LOT of time to start seeing results. Plus, frankly, you’re probably not going to be very good at it when you start out.
However, if you put in the TIME, then the results can be amazing. You can have an audience of people who trust and respect you - the foundation for a scaling business.
We’re going to talk about the TIMELINE of social media success. This is the GENERAL experience that many people have when trying to build and audience on social media.
The results of course aren’t guaranteed. However, if you know what to expect going in, then you’re more likely to build the audience you want…
Day 0 To Month 1
Brutal. No one cares. The algorithm doesn’t care. Your friends don’t care. You’re mom probably doesn’t even care.
You’re not very good at creating exciting content, and it takes FOREVER to create because you’re SLOW.
It’s a disheartening period because you’re not getting any results, and you’re not very good at it.
Month 1 To Month 3
This is where most people quit. If you survive this, you're going to start seeing HINTS of success.
You'll see consistent engagement. You'll see some recurring faces.
In addition, you’re starting to get GOOD at creating content. You’ll also get FASTER at creating it.
It’s still not really worth the time since you won’t be generating significant revenue, but if you squint you’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Month 3 to Month 6
Now we're getting somewhere. You're going to see your audience start to build. You may start generating some business!
You're getting tagged by others.
You're getting quoted by others.
You're starting to see signs of VIRAL growth.
Your audience is big enough now to get a few sales here and there. Again, nothing to get too excited about.
Month 6 to Month 9
This is often when you’ll see some of the biggest growth. The algorithm finally likes you because they’re seeing consistent engagement.
The algorithm not only trusts you now but it better understands WHO to show your content to.
You're starting to see some real sales start to close. This is the period where it'll be FUN. Major momentum.
Month 9 to Month 12
This is probably when you can solidify the status of INFLUENCER. Now, your numbers are starting to truly multiply.
Your following is growing fast.
You're getting sponsorship offers.
You're getting a LOT of DMs and sales.
You're getting a ton of word of mouth.
Month 12+
It just all piles on now. The show is unstoppable.
This is a common pattern for marketers on social media. Give it time and consistency. Keep improving month over month by studying your data.
It’s the only way to get the benefits of social media marketing…
